Default Tell me about my 1/4 mile time.

Yesterday is the first time i've had my 89 mustang lx to the track. Best time was:

60ft: 2.35
1/4 time: 14.83
1/4mph: 93mph

Is this a decent time for just having BBK long tubes, off-road h-pipe, and timing set at 11-12*(running 89octane)? I scuffed the tires and dropped the clutch from 3500ish. As far as tires i have BF Goodrich g-Force Sport's. Could i run quicker with the car as is? Tell me what ya think! I'm just looking for some feedback.

I tend not to beat up on my car much so I don't have much experience with ETs

Was the best time reached smoking the tires or with a good clean take off ?

I spun em for a good while, lol. I was spinning till about the 60ft, then I let off to get traction and floored it. My best mph of the day was a 95.4.

I dont know what those cars would run stock, but if you were spinning that bad off the line you can definately shave off some time. Practice launching at different RPM's until you find where you can launch consistently without spinning. You should chirp the tires on takeoff, just enough not to bog the engine, but not enough to go into a burnout. Once it hooks up, stomp it

good d.o.t tires like mt et streets or hossiers are the way to get get 60ft times. and that will also help you 1/4 times too.

I agree with hotrod. Spinning lost you some time but it let the engine get up on its peak. The best ET will probaly be a combination of both - very little tire burning but geeting up in the rpm band quickly.
I don't know if there is nay benefit to going much above the motor's peak.

I guess you would want to rev up a bit above the peak so that when you up shift you are still right at that peak...
