Powdercoating calipers
i would like to powdercoat my calipers but i need to know if they need to be taken apart or will they withstand a 400 degree over for as much as 30 minutes without hurting any seals .. i know that the pads can get hotter than that under hard braking and those would be removed for coating anyway. thanks for the help
I painted mine with ceramic based hi temperature paint sold at auto part stores. They came out great.
U remove wheels, clean everything with a wire brush and spray with brake cleaner, mask what you don't want to paint with some rags and spray on the paint.

Here's a link to a company that sells a coating that they say is almost as hard as powder coating.

I mentioned this coating to a mechanic and he said that he had used it and it was a good product.I haven't used it yet so I can't give a recomendation.
