I'm looking to buy a set of GT40 heads, and I want to know if it would be a good idea. I hadve heard good things but I don't know. I also want to do a Trick flow stage 1 cam, and maybe some roller rockers. I pretty much just want to get some idea's for my car.

This is a little off topic, but my dad put the SLP loudmouths on his 05 GT, and I definatlly thinking of buying them. Are they to loud? Do they sound good on my car? And where can I find some sound clips. Thank you very much

Get the GT40 heads if your on a tight budget. But keep in mind they are not as good as say AFR 165's. I say that because nobody like to do that kind of job twice if you decide to go aluminum later. I have the P heads ported and 1.7 roller rockers and it pulls pretty good.

 

Gt40 heads are a great set of heads for the little money you put into them. but just for a couple of extra hundred you can buy a set of trick flow aluminum heads that work great with that stage 1 cam. you could really save your money and just buy the whole top end kit that has cam,heads, and intake for a 2500 or so. i think its a little less but in that area. as for the loud mouth i would suggest it. remember that his motor and your motor are two different things so they will sound different. id stick to the mac,flowmaster, magnaflow,etc. but thats just my opinion. Ive fabricated my mufflers for my 83 but thats only because i'm going to run side exit exhaust and you cant find the mufflers for that purpose on a fox.

 

GT40 heads are a good mod for any 5.0 foxbody. My friend just got them on his 89 LX 5.0 and he noticed a decent gain.

 

iF U CAN AFFORD IT GET THE AFR HEADS.

 

I've got them and they rock. I'm not looking for max performance in the quarter, just a nice reliable driver with good power. A huge improvement over stock.

SLP makes a great product, but they're a lot louder on my 5.0 than my 96 Cobra.
