Default PI heads ready to go!

Ok, I hate to post and ask a question that has been asked numerous times, but I cannot find a good guide to switching to PI heads. Does anyone have a good link? I've been searching all day. I am really concerned about setting the timing with the crank and cams. I assume there are arrows imprinted on it, but the haynes manual does not elaborate. Another question, I have a 98 GT conv. but its auto, I would like a stick, but honestly I cannot afford to get another car seeing as this one is not paid off yet. What else would be the best to put in this car for $1200 or so? 500 is in the PI heads and intake I have, I was thinking a high stall torque converter and shift kit? This will make it run with the 5-speeds, correct? Whats the best torque converter to get? Thanks for your help!
