Default water pump?

I got a slow leak in the water pump. does anyone have any tips when replacing it? I have a '98 3.8L. pretty high milage if that makes a difference (104K).

Keep track of the bolts as you take them out. Clean all the mating surfaces thoroughly (wire brush and razor blade scraper work wonders). When installing the bolts, a little sealant/anti-seize is a good choice for the bolts that go into or through a water jacket.

If your bolts are too rusty, go ahead and buy a new set of bolts.

get a scotch brite pad to make sure all the gasket material is removed, it really helps. Check your belt too, now would be a convenient time to replace it along with your hoses. One other thing, get a thermostat and go ahead and replace it, and run a coolant flush through there.

Pretty much everything this guy said accept I would also get a new set of H20 pump bolts for your car.
