Default RE: Posi trac!

ford will not put a trac lok in the v6s because they use the 7.5 rear end, the 7.5 tlok has weak spider gears and was originally designed for the bronco2/ranger with 120 HP, a hard clutch drop on a tlok will break it and ford didnt want to have to do warrenty work on them

What does this 7.5 mean? Gear size? Why can't they put the same trac lock unit that's on the GT on V6's?

the size of the ring and pinion, the v6 uses a 7.5 inch, which is smaller then the GTs(8.8) you would need to swap in a whole GT rear end, or just put in a true trac in your stock 7.5 diff

if you want to add lsd, i would suggest gears to, mpsautosalvage.com has used 3.73s for $50 which cannot be beat, you just need a bering kit and something to correct the speedo with
