Ok, time for some advice from another 20 yr old. First of all, ill assume you have a somewhat decent technical ability, that being said, you can change the gears in your mustang in a weekend at worst. remove cover/fluid, remove driveshaft. go to store and buy 2ft piece of angle iron(best piece in the world) drill to holes to fit your yoke and bolt it in, remove nut with breaker bar and socket. next take out bearing retainers. remove old case with prybar. take out side and spider gears and put case in bench vise(make sure not to mar the case with the vise, wood or shop towels work well) remove bolts on ring gear as instructed, btw, back to when you remove the caps/bearing retainers, make sure you keep them separate as they are made for thrust, keep the shims separate as well. put new ring gear on, follow manufacturers recommended torque and sequence. put spider gears and side gear back in. now take the pinion gear out, put .002 shim on new pinion, put new bearing on(press on) put back in housing use angle iron again and bolt down to low end of specs(if yoke is loose continue to tighten until it takes appx 1 ft/lb rotating force), put case back in, with shims on same sides, use new bearings, bolt down and use the paint to take back lash reading, should be inspecs, cover on with new gasket fill with fluid, be sure to add special lubrication if posi/limited slip, your down, go haul some ***
