i have a GT40 upper/lower intake and im about to pick up a 3/8" spacer. what do the spacers do? ive heard about people using them but would like some help. thanks.


oh and if anyone has the same setup, does a strut tower brace clear the intake with the spacer on?? thanks alot

scratch the first post... i found out the benefit of the spacer. now i just need to know if i will be able to fit my BBK Gripp strut brace with the GT40 intake and 1" spacer. i didnt realize how cheap they are and will end up buying the larger one.

I don't know for sure, but when I spoke w/ MM about their strut tower brace and my TFS Street Heat w/ 1" spacer, they didn't seem to think it would work....they weren't exactly sure.

The benefits are supposed to be that it keeps the upper cooler, but if you have the EGR hooked up, I don't know how true that really is. It lengthens the runners on your intake, so it should give you more tq, although probably not a whole lot, and may lower your powerbanda little.

^^It's all negligable, so you should expect any major losses or gains. I got mine so I could run FRPP tall valve covers. It rubs the hood a little, so you may need a cowl hood at some point....
