Default HELP, stang is quiet now!

Just installed someBASSANI BX 4840 mufflers onto my stang & they sound quiet. My question is will they break in after a certain amount of time? I have a 306 with BBK shorties, MAC O/R x-pipe & dumps right after the mufflers. I had flowmasters & dynomax bullets on before & they sounded so much louder. Please tell me that they will get louder as they break in!!!

Mufflers do not need a break in period.

No they will not get louder. They weren't meant to be an attention getter anyhow.I have a full Bassani exhaust on my 04 GT and it isn't "loud" until you get on it.
I have enough people wanting to race me at stoplights the way it is without having every cop in town watch me.
If all you want is someone to look at you, take the mufflers off and straight pipe 'em.

I've heard them on other stangs & they sounded alot better than mine with the same set up. Sounded so much Louder & Aggresive. Could there have been something that went wrong when the muffler shop installed them? Is there a inlet/outlet for them cuz there were no markings on them?

Bassani mufflers have the lead-in pipes welded onto them from the factory and so they can't be installed backward.

Maybe the Stangs you heard them on had no cats or high flows.

I don't think it will get louder but the sound may change slightly after a period of time. Granted no break in period but the build up in the exhaust system will change the sound slightly as they have with mine now and in the past. I have run magnaflows, dynomax, flowmaster, etc and they all changed a little after a while. Now that said you get used to certain repeated sounds after a while and your perception may change for the better (hopefully) in a short time. JMO J

Will the sound change after I replace my syock heads with some AFR 165's? I also have the E303 cam & all the other bolt on's.
