I have found that it doesn't really matter. Some brands will give a slightly whiter light but actual illumination doesn't change.Clear headlight lenses instead of smoke tinted would be theway I'd go if you have trouble seeing after dark.If you just want brighter lights because they "look better" then you're on your own.

im asking because right now in the car i have some piaa blue tinted bulbs in the headlights and when driving on roads compared to other cars the light output doesnt seem as good. so i was just wondering if there was anything better.

Some of my friends that have import cars have done real HID conversions on them, and they are way brighterthan any standard bulbs. I think someother people on this site have HIDs and maybe will chime in.

Sylvania makes some fairly bright bulbs, but for the brightest you can't beat a HID conversion. http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustanglights.htmlis where you need to go, their conventional lights are fairly bright too, that's what i have in my car right now. Keep in mind though some of the members who have done a HID swap recommend projector lights for the best results, but HID is definitally an upgrade by any means. Besides you can get the discount for being a MF

I use Sylvania Silverstars and am satisfied with them. Since I installed them on both my vehicles they have come out with a brighter version. The Silverstars are truely brighter and I got mine with a massive rebate so they were not too bad $$ wise.

I'll agree with the silverstars. I have had them for a few months right now and I'm very satisfied with the light output. I just have the stock headlight housings, too. I have trouble seeing at night anyways, and these lights are very, very nice to have.

you are sorta limited by the DOT as to how bright a light you are allowed to legally have...if you go over this, i feel no pitty when someone like me lets you have it with 6 300 watt KC Daylighters that are mounted on my jeep.

I love it when i flash my highbeams at someone who obviously has an illegal low beam...they imeadiatly turn on thier high beams to "show" me that they were only using thier "low" beams. thats when they get the 3600watt treatment....it's like looking into a constant camera flash.
