I have a 86 GT when the car get to normal oprating temp.and you shut it off the car wont star up it has to cool for at lest 20 minutes then it starts up when you try to star it sounds like a dead battery .
do u have headers ??? The heat form them could be affeting you starter . I use to have a s-10 blazere with a SBC in it and I had the same problem till i got a mini starter and one of those heat shilds they sell in jegs
if you have a tfi module on your distributor im assuming thats what it is. Alot of people have had this problem with tfi modules. Its simple and cheap to replace.
Check all your electrical connections to the starter, etc. Sometimes the heat will make a bad connection expand and get worse. Happened to me once. Good luck.
