351w crank specs
Hey all,
I am building a 351w from a 70 short deck block. It has the original crankshaft that is .010 under on mains and .030 on rods. In looking at some manuals, the main/rod oil clearance on early motors was .0005 - .0020. I noticed some other manuals said some in mid 70's had clearance from .0008 - .0026. Anyone know what the differences were? I thought the journals were the same size on all 351's. The reason I ask, is I am running about .0020 on them right now, which would be at the max. for the early specs. Wondered if I had another .0006 to play with.
