Default Gear combination

I have a Tremec Road Race(close ratio)transmission, a 351W with approximatley 425HP, and 3.73 gears. My problem is the shifting points are really close together, I think it is geared too high for the street. I used to have the 3.73's in the car when it had the old 5 Liter engine and it was fine, but with the higher HP engine it is too much. Does anyone have ny suggestions as to which differential gear would be better for this setup? I am not drag racing it, but I do road race it once in a while.

The rear isn't why you're shifting so much. It's the "close ratio" portion of your tranny that makes you shift a lot...
