I'm not real familiar with the 05's computers, but what 'chip' did you get?

Most of the tuners/chips I am aware of don't require any splicing...

If you have a CEL on then you need to pull the diagnostic codes from the computer to see what the computer is complaining about.

I'm betting your 'chip' is responsible for improper readings of your intake air temp.

That mod is crap and will not give you what you think it will. It will increase the amount of fuel dumped into your engine, increasing soot, contaminating your oil, destroying your cats, and basically shortening the life of your engine.

If you really want to gain some HP the good way, go visit a dyno tuner.

This 'chip' is simply a resistor which sends an altered signal to the computer about what temperature the Intake Charge is.
The computer uses the IAT to add or retard ignition timing. By telling the computer that the IAT is lower (cooler air), the computer will add more ignition timing.

In your case, I am guessing that the IAT signal is now reduced to below what the computer thinks would be an acceptable range. The bad part is that once a sensor signal goes out to range, the computer ignores that signal.
If your CEL is on because of your IAT sensor, then you aren't likely to see any gain from this chip.

First, go pull the diagnostic codes. If the IAT is mentioned, then pull the chip.
If no codes (I doubt that...), then pull the 'chip', reset the ECU, and see if the CEL comes back.

Their claims of 35hp are greatly exagerated. Basically all you are doing is adding a couple of degrees of ignition advance.

Damn hacks need to be put out of business or beatin within an inch of thier life for trying to pass that sh*t off as a legitimate performance product. I think that mod is actually worse than those so called calibrated MAF's people use.The only way to properly tune an 05 and newer Stang is with a hand held flash programmerperiod. Whether its with a mailorder tune or a dynotunethe only way torecalibratean 05or newer Stangs computeris by using a flash programmer. Thier is no way to cheatwithout paying a price, whichjust mightend up being the cost of a new engine.
