Default Question about poly transmission mount.

Ok guys, i'm not sure if everyone's transmissions do this or just mine, but it bothers me regardless. When i'm stopped my whole shifter assembly shakes a lot more then i'd like it too. Also, say i'm driving on a highway in 5th gear doing about 70 or so. And i'm slightly giving it gas, when I let off you can feel the whole handle shift down a little bit, kind of like the transmission is moving, and vice versa when I give it a little more gas. I figured that upgrading to a poly urethane transmission mount will help me out greatly, but I don't want to throw money on all sorts of parts if thats not the problem. Would it be more that crossmember thing? Or is it just normal? Help please!!!

a poly mount will help lots with the movement of the shifter side to side when you let off/get on the gas pedal, but it might make the vibration problem worse as they are much stiffer than the stock rubber tranny mounts. a certain amount of movement is normal as the engine torque twists the engine toward the passenger side when you get on the gas and it relaxes and comes back to the left when you let off the gas. there are some good aftermarket shifters out there that don't shake near as bad as the stock ones do so I would recommend you look into getting one.
