did you installs the mufflers yourself or a shop? it sounds like u know absolutely nothing about exhaust id recommend getting a shop to install the new pipe for you and you watch them and learn what you can from that. this could easily be done yourself but youd need a bender a welder and something to cut it, if you got the stock sized inlet mufflers (2.25)and you want to run say a 3" then you will need an adapter pipe to change the saze, common sense a 2.25 wont weld to a 3. hope this helps any more q's just ask.

All you got to do is buy a mid pipe x or h and take it to the shop and have them install it.

This has been requested before, but im seriously hoping that a mod will post the basics on exhaust so that newbs can read. Im not tryin to diss anyone, its just that it would be easier to work with people who understood a little bit more before making mistakes.

ok so if my outlets are a different size, using a adapter wont change performance at all?
what size piping is best? how much should it run me?
what exactly is an x pipe, is it just a mandrel bent piping that replaces your old piping and removes the catalytic converters? do those stay in? i thought i heard someone saying sometnhgn about removing them? god im such a newb when it comes to performance. thanks for your help

grab yourself a copy of MuscleMustangs&FastFord's MAgazine, you can find countless exhaust dealers, go to their websites check out the stuff, read and learn, its all simple stuff.

it wont hurt your performance so much youd notice. id go dual 2.5 inch pipe for a mildly modded car. and an x pipe is the pipe that comes from your headers, it forms an X and you can leave your cat's in there if you want but i didnt, and your mufflers go after the other end of your X. hope it helps! there are a lot of posts on x and h pipes here in the pipes and boost forum i suggest u check that out and good luck!

Yes, removing your cats will give you more exhaust flow creating more horsepower.
