I wouldnt call it bad, maybe a waste of gas. Unless of course this "period of time" is for an obnoixously long time then it could potentially cause problems. I would just make sure your engine has enough oil, and doesn't overheat or anything while your fartin' around.

Yeah, that's a good idea.Let's get the cops all stirred up and maybe they'll stop writing tickets for loud exhaust.

Ugh. I can't stand kids that drive around 3 gears shy of where they're supposed to be.

There is no reason to do it unless you're racing 'n such. Say you're autocrossing and you're keeping your engine in it's potential powerband. But just cruising around town..... I couldn't contemplate why one would do it. Mabe if they had an unusally loud exhaust and, like previously stated, they're trying to **** someone off.

It won't hurt a thing, unless there's something wrong with the engine to begin with. People running 4.10s are churning 2800 RPM at 80 MPH in 5th, you think they stop driving on the highway?[/align]

Well, I don't know if it's related or not, but one time I drove an 2 straight hours on the interstate at 85MPH, my revs were fairly high and just before I got home my supercharger belt broke. So I took that off, put another one on, and come to find out my supercharger ceased up. I'm guessing that the internal belts just got way to hot as they were probably spinning well over what they are meant to. Of course it's a powerdyne supercharger and you know how great those are...

Anyways, what do you guys think, was driving for 2 hours at 85mph the thing that killed my supercharger? If so was it probably only the belts. I'm rebuilding her pretty soon, but I'm just wondering if it's the belts and bearings. If it's not that, then I'm screwed.

How old is the blower? That drive by itself probably wasn't the blower-killer, but did finally push it over the edge to failure. I'd be curious how other brands of blowers behave if revved high for a long time like yours did..
