Default Cheap paint

I'm about to sand down and repaint my 88lx since the grey paint is awful, I was wondering if you guys had any tips? I'm not going for great quality, just something decent. I have a 7" sander that I will use to sand down the old paint, use some rust remover to get rid of some of the small rust spots, and then primer it up and paint it black. As long as the paint looks decent for 2 years I will be happy. Does this sound possible or am I out of my mind and the perfect candidate for a $300 macco job?

In my opinion, you can alway do a better job
than earl or macco. I bought my paint at
Tractor supply ($20) hardner ($5) and used
standard enamal reducer.
You need to get some surface potting putty to fill
the rut pitt, and some acid type metal conditioner.
50 psi on the air compressor. First coat not too heavy
30 min set up for full second coat.

your stang looks confused. It seems that it has found it's wayinto a field. Does it think it is a truck?

With some rear tire chains on it I probably use it
to plow. Without the chains a heavy coating
of slush will put me out of business.
The paint I used is called International Harvestor RED
tractor enamal.

It would be the sexiest looking tractor around. Just don't lose the chains.

Black ain't the best color of a quickie do it yourself job. You are gonna see every blemish, speck of carp, sand lines...etc...better off to use a light color...white for instance.

I Agree.
In the beginning it will look really bad
in black. After a year you won't care.

Go with YELLOW / black trim
