Fuses all good. only 290mv at the compressor. any ideas where to start?

You should be able to jump the 2 wires at the accumulator and the clutch on the compressor will engage. If that doesn't happen you may have an issue with either the Wide Open Throttle Relay being stuck, or a TP sensor showing the PCM that you are at wide open throttle or the head unit has an issue. Also make sure you have enough freon in the system to make things happen. The only way you are going to know that is to hook up gauges and check pressure because the system will seem to have pressure in it but no freon.

Hey reborn, I already jumpered the Compressor. It will engage and run. The low pressure side the hoses arent cold but just normal temp, the high pressure side is hot. I think that it may need a flush and recharge. Os there a switch or something that is telling the system the pressure is to low, and not to run? I am trying to trouble shoot it before I take it in to be serviced, to try to avoid a huge bill! I already have replaced the vacuum swith in the dash (was bad) and found 3 vacuum leaks and repaired them aswell. there is pressure in the system. so at least its not dry. The compressor was replaced back last year (previous owner) but they didnt replace the dryer.
Thanks for the help so far!!! I can do all the mods you can think of, but last hotrod I had first thing I did was rip out the A/C......LOL now as I get older.....I want NEED the A/C.
Thanks again Jason

You should have a high and low side switch but they rarely go bad. If the previous owner had to replace the compressor then the fixed orifice tube also should have been replaced. The tube is a filter but the only way to replace it is to evac the whole system down, replace or clean it, install new o rings and recharge. The filter has to be replaced as part of a new compressor and should be cleaned everytime you vac the system down. You should have 12 volts at the comp. clutch when ever the system is engaged.
What kinda car is it?

1995 GTS Mustang last of the 5.0L H.O.'s as of this moment, I have NOTHING at the comressor. (on teh plug) 200mv if that. so there are no check valves or protection circuits that keep teh compressor from running if pressure is to low? I am good to teh relay....I will check again when I get released 1700 formation (army guy). Man thanks again for all the help.
