Default chin spoiler question (type and installation)

i just ordered one from v6mustangstuff, and i have 2 questions.

1) the one on mustangtuning says it comes by defaults 'coiled up' and needs to be flattened out before used. the one on mustangstuff (at least in the pic) looks like it comes in a big box, uncoiled. are they the same peice? is anything different about them?

2) the one i ordered also doesnt (as far as i know) come with hardware. i dont mind this since i can go to hardware store and pick up stuff for that for cheap anyhow, but does anyone know if it comes with 'intructions'? ... i can buy all the bolts in the world but i dont know what size or where to put them, i think id have issues

(also can i install without jacking the car? i guess i could get it up on cinderblocks but itd be easier to just put it on without it. )

anyway thanks

Default RE: chin spoiler question (type and installation)

I raised the car alittle to make it easier (Im lowered), didn't come with any hardware, just folded over in a box. Went to parts store and just grabbed some self tapping screws and started from the ends and worked my way to the front. I did it solo so I taped the chin spoiler to the bumper where I wanted it and just ran the screws in.

do you know if there is any diff between the 2 diff spoilers?

either way,
thanks for the info -

also if i want to raise it, ill have to jack one side at a time since i dont have any fancy lift or anyhing, i guess ill put one tire on a block and then do the other...but where is the right place to put the jack if i did it that way?

this is the first thing im doing to my car so im a little nervous

you could put the front end on ramps *and put blocks behind the rear tires*. or do it level with less arm space. im getting a chin spoiler for christmas and im trying it level first, and if its too hard, ill put it on ramps. i dont think you need it all the way in the air though.

Be careful when using ramps. After I put mine on, I had to have a second hand slightly lift the front end as I slowly backed down off the ramps (and I'm not lowered). If you don't lift the car evenly, you're gonna have a hell of a time. Find a set of ramps, it'll save you a lot of headache. Other than that, it is very easy to install. Just remember to start flush at the wheel wells and work your way to the center. The middle should end up slightly recessed (about 1/4").

i dont have access to ramps as far as i know - i dont really know anyone who is into cars and stuff - so its either a jack+blocks (stacked lumber or cinderblocks)
or have the shop do it.

i may do that anyway (shop) actually sinc ei need to fix my right rear fender - it was sort of side swiped and its gonna be like 600~ to fix and paint it nice anyway.

start at the ends and run the screws in, the front will be flush as long as you give 1/4 inch from being flush on the sides.

2 replies about where it goes and 2 different responses..hehe

is it just a matter of opinion as far as where its flush? (ie the wheels or the front?)
