IMO an automatic tranny built right with a proper stall converter and right rear gears will outrun a 5 speed manual tranny car all day long at the strip and it won't ever miss third gear either! LOL
Wow so if i had an auto and i bought one of those! I would outrun a stick??? Pretty impressive, I didnt know that, I shudve got an autoatic, but stick is so much fun!!

yea, thats why i picked auto over manual. my truck and super bee are both auto. i wanted a manual. the super bee shifts so smoothly too. but a manual is much more fun to drive since you are shifting it. its got a slap stick in it but thats still not the same as a real manual.

and here is some info back at you

yes, stock for stock the 5 spd is quicker, but no where near as consistent due to driver error
racing a 5 spd also wears out the clutch in it as much as if not more than in an auto
an auto multiplies the engine torque which allows the car to leave much harder without the shock load into the drivetrain you get by dumping the clutch which saves wear and tear on the axles, u-joints, driveshaft, etc.
most all of the really sucessful and serious money bracket racers use an automatic.

and if you want to shift it yourself, you can always get one with a full manual valve body and shift it all you want too! just don't have to worry about no stinkin' clutch! LOL

They should put a tiptronic transmission in the mustangs! I drove a friend of mines Galant with a tiptronic, I love that car, no comparison in power or speed, but fun as all HELL, and no clutch! I love it! and thnx for the web address!

I drove a triburon with that fun to drive.....I think it's used to keep the driver amused so he doesn't realize how slow the damn car really is
