Default U.K Member Needs Help '66 OR '73?

Hi all, Im looking to buy a Mustang sometime soon. Ive found two that I like.

1966 mustang, straight six, 200 sprint, 3.2 automatic

It has had a recent bare metal respray and was finished in dark blue with a metalic effect. when the respray was being done it also had new doors, boot lid and front wings. The interior has also been recently renewed and had the front seats recovered with new foams and original new covers. Also new carpet and headliner was fitted. All this was done by a proffesional upholsterer.

As far as restoring it back to its original beauty it is very nearly complete it just needs fine tuning.

1973 Ford Mustang Grande

5.0L V8

3-speed C4 Auto

Electric blue metallic with white trim

Lovingly kept and maintained, permanently garaged. Over £4,000 of bills, recent items include 4 new white wall tyres and a new exhaust. ALL parts sourced from the USA.

Replaced all suspension bushes, trackarms etc. new vinyl roof, new front windshield, carpet replaced, 5 new chrome 15" wheels. the interior was not originally white, but it has been since we've had it.

What do you guys think? I prefer the '73 stang grande I think. How much roughly are these two cars worth? Are Grandes any more or less special in the Mustang range?

Which car keeping in mind the condition their in is worth the most money?

Does anybody have any good mustang buying guides or anything to help me out, any advice appreciated[sm=pimp.gif]

Thanks for looking[sm=smiley2.gif]

Thanks, how much have you actually heard they go for then? It doesn't have to be an exact price or anything[sm=smiley2.gif]

Well im not to sure about the UK bit I know a stock old muscle car in Germany and all over the UK can go for anything upwards of $40,000+ because they are so rare there and people really want them. What are they asking for those two if you dont mind me asking.

Thats what it would be worth in the USA. I would go for the 1966.

I think you're thinking of Euros to Dollars, not Pounds to Dollars.

5,000 Pounds is $9,466 USD

I would also go with the 1966. The 71-73 Mustang body wasn't very desirable then, and as desirable now.

both cars look very nice but I would think the better choice would be the '66 model as it is more of a classic Mustang than the '73 and should be worth more also. plus being a V-6, it won't use as much of that expensive English petrol as the V-8 in the '73!
you might try looking for the Hemmings Motor News website also for more pricing/value information on these two cars.
welcome to the forums also.
