transmission question
I am new to owning a mustang and was wondering how much power can astock manual with t-5 king cobra cluthin a 1995 mustang gt handle? If it is below 400 what is the most common swapped transmission that can handle about 500hp for less then $2k? thanks
well their rated at around330ft lbs. Some people have had no problems with their T5's at 400+hp and some have blown them under 330ft/lbs its really a crapshoot. You could look into a tremec 3550 for around 400hp and should handle it fine or if you plan on adding more power look into a TKO or T56. Look around online and you can find good deals on transmissions, i got my TKO600 shipped to my door brand new for a little under $1000
