Default Spark Plug question.

I bought some Spark Plugs for my '98 V6 [3.8]
I looked online and it said the proper gap was .052.

I zip to Autozone and I ask for plugs for a V6 '98 Mustang, he hands me 6 plugs, rings me up, and I'm on my way. I busted out my gapper, and they're HGUE. The .052 slot had enough room to wiggle. I slid it over and it comes stop gapped at about .062.

Does it really matter or should I get new plugs?

They're Bosch Platinum Plus plugs [Part Number: 4041]

P.S. McFlurries are awesome<3

it's probably not going to hurt it but to gap them. gently tap the electrode end of the sprak plug till it closes the gap. then regap them with the spark plug gaper.
