RE: want to rebuild my t5
You say "I'm not a transmission guy"? I'd leave it alone. It can be done IF youpay great attention to the smallest details but if time is a factor you might want to have this job done by a reputable pro.
Now for the kit itself. If you absolutely must get an E-Bay kit (I advise against that too) get the one with Timken bearings.Asian bearings ARE JUNK.The seals are poor quality and the metal is inferior.
Go to a friendly local transmission rebuilder and ask them what kits they use and see if they will sell you one. That way if you get in a jam they might be able to help you get out of it.

RE: want to rebuild my t5
well if there is another place i can buy a kit online, i would rather do that. I'm actually not going to be doing the rebuild, a friend of mine is. so if he messes it up i can slap him. at any rate...shops around here like to rape people, so like I said, I'de rather buy a kit online. is $250 worth having my friend do the labor, and taking it to a machine shop(i dont know why, but someone else might). Basically what I'm planning on doing is having my friend rebuild an extra t5 i have, and taking my car to a shop and having the clutch done. then while the tranny is out, i'll bring them the rebuilt one to install back in the car.
