Flashing Theft light!!!
Today I was driving home, I have a (2001 Mustang 3.8L) While cruising at 35 MPH my engine shuts off, RPM and MPH goes to zero, but I still have power. I pull over and try to crank the engine and it does but will not start. I notice that my THEFT light keeps blinking and the Odometer reads -------- on cluster. Does anybody know anything about this?????

Both gages just drop to Zero and the engine shut off but I still had power. The engine cranks over but dose not want to start. The THEFT light is blinking
way to unusual, It’s blinking really fast. Like I said I know how it blinks normally but this time it’s blinking way too quickly. I need to check the fuses when I get a chance but other than that I think the Vehicle THEFT system took a crap or its another problem.

I found out the problem, my PCM 30 AMP fuse blew out so I replaced it but it blew out again!!! There’s a short to ground in a wire or the PCM has an internal short. The good thing is that the PCM is new and it’s still under warranty (It was replaced a couple of months ago). The bad thing will be if it’s a wire.

It,s been a while. It was my wire harnes that comes out fromt the stock intake hole; I have a K&N intake kit and you get rid of the stock intake and the wires was rubing on the hole whitch eventully (3-4 years later) finaly cut through the wires and shorted out my PCM fuse. That was my problem. (The mass air flow sensor harnes) Hopes this helps you if you also have a Intake kit on your mustang.
