Just being under powered and possibly burning the clutch engaging second depending on how long you take to engage.

If you want to skip gears try:
1--> 3 --> 5 or 1,2,4,5 or 1,3,4,5
I started doing that, because there is no point in hitting every gear in a DD situation. Your Cobra will have plenty of TQ to acclerate at agood pace even when skipping 2&4. I'll shift between 1500 and 1800 RPM's most of the time, and still skip some gears.

skipping gears is basically worthless. it just takes more thought and concentration. the only way it might work well would be if you had some gears in the rear. i see no problems with it damge wise btw.
