Default How often do you get your mustang serviced?

How often do you people get your mustang serviced? I know oil change is about 3 months or 3k miles, but on what kind of intervals do you get a major service done? every 30k miles, every 15kmiles or...? I've only had my stang for a couple of weeks now so I'm curious about the recommended service periods.

Thanks

I think auto trans flush every 30K miles, flush coolant once a season, probably would not hurt to change the rearend fluid ,and flush the power steering around 50K. New Fuel Filter every 15-20K, clean your air filter with a K&N recharge kit every 10K miles and clean out the throttle body while your at it. I liketo run some fuel system cleaner through the gas every 3-5K. Check your tire pressure at least monthly, more as the weather starts to change.

Yeah, I agree with you 945LSTANG. Ford dealership gave me an estimate on the 30k service with everything 94Blk5.0 said plus a little extra and it turned out to be about $480. Damn that is alot. Just wandering which place would be cheaper/cheapest than a Ford dealership to do this if I am not going to do it myself?

Understandthat a dealship or any other business is trying to make money, they are goingto sell anything they can. Most thing are simple:, change your oil($15), clean the air filter($10 for the kit), check tire press, fuel filter($10)clean outthe T.B( $3 bottle of T.B safe cleaner), flush coolant( $15-20). The other thing that can get messy or frusturating like the auto tran, rearend, power steering etc could be done at shop, but those interval are at least 30K miles apart. Go into a shop and tell them what you want liketrans flush for example and dont let them push things on you. It may seem expense but its worth it in the long run. Dealership are going to be more expensive because they are using OEM parts and really good mechanics, which it my opinion justifies the cost. Keep it running good, you wont regret it.

The best thing to do is to look in the owner's manual for the car. It has a full maintenance schedule towards the end of the book.

In addition, maintainence is alot cheaper than a major repair. As long as you take care of you car, you won't have nearly the problems that you would've if you didn't. Some trans flushes need to be done by a machine because you are unable to drain the torque converter. Some T/C's have drain plugs on them. I don't know if your's has this or not, it's just a fun fact for you.
