does anyone know if a hood from an 82 GT will fit my 86 GT? i think they are the same but i just want to find out for sure before i buy it.

yes it will bolt up but no the front of the hood is made diif.due to front nose changes.if I rember right they went 79-83 then 84-86 then the 87-up.

Nope...the '79-82 hoods interchange, the '83-86 hoods interchange and the '87-93 hood exchange.
If you want to put that 82 hood on your '86 then you need the front end from a '79-82 mustang.

P.S....where did you find an '82GT hood? They are very rough to find?

well that kinda sucks, i love the look of the hood scoop but i dont wnat to drill holes in my stock hood. o well.

how different are the hoods from 82 to 86. i know the nose is different but it looks like the hoods are almost exactly the same, in pictures anyways.

The front of the hoods are slightly different. It's kinda hard to explain without showing you.
The '79-82 hoods are more squared off in the front.
