1995 Mustang GTS 5.0 AC liquid line fact or fiction?
Ok bought a new AC compressor and drier today, then the guy tells me I need a $30.00liquid line.
True or False.
It almost seems like these guys smell a sawbuck on ya and they want every dime before you leave....
Do I really need a new drier, and if so aliquid line?
WTF where does the madness end?
Thanks.

Well actually the high pressure line is the one on the top on teh passenger side of the engine compartment with the red cap (acsess port). The so called liquid line is a short line with no acsess that runs from the evaporator to the drier.

Well a drier would be higly recommended. Its there to capture moisture in the system, and will also tend to catch debris. If it not replaced, you risk damaging your new compressor. The liquid line may be a requirement too, but without seeing I probably wouldnt be able to tell. Many systems have an orifice tube inline which has a small hole in it for flow. There is also a screen in front to keep said hole from pluggin and failing all together.... Now what does that have to do with the line? Some vehicles had an "unreplaceable orifice" that was permanently installed in the line. At one time they sold a retrofit kit that allowed you to cut out the old orifice and install a new one, but replacing the line was much easier and safer.
P.S. the only way I can say to identify if it such a line, is to take a close look at the straight sections of the metal tube. The ones with the orifice built in usually had a few dimples in the tube that would keep the orifice in place.
