Default Help with shocks/struts?

Howdy.

I'm new to the corral with a recent pruchase of a gorgeous '89 GT5 spd. (see post WhooooHoooo!!! if interested). My first item to tackle is replace the shcoks/struts as they are a bit tired. I think the rest of the suspension is in decent shape based on the mileage of the car buthonestly I haven'tcrawled under to detail every lastpiece. I can tell from driving that the shocks are worn. I'd love to dump a G or so into a handling kit butcan't get the clearence from the accountant to do that right after the purchase of the car. What's a good set of shocks/struts to use to get a good ride and be compatible with future handling enhancements to include lowering it a smidge. I'll have to wait on the rest of the mods. I'm more into turns than drag racing, though I'm sure I'll launch from a few lights .

Thanks for any help!

God bless,

I have Tokiko and I love 'em! The price is right and it is a nice improvement over stock. A lot of people like KYB as well, though. If you want to spend a bit more, get Bilstein. They're hands down the best you can buy for your car. Give them a look

I am a Tokico fan also, I have the 5-way adjustable ones and have never had a problem with them. Can't beat the lifetime warranty either.

Thanks for the replys so far. Checked Bilsteins, can get them for $530 for a set of fronts and rears shipped. Tokico isn't much cheaper. Found a Tokico kit with springs and 5 ways for about $650 that will lower it 1.25". Wasn't really planning on spending that much right now...might have to wait a while if I'm gonna go that route. Any good reviews on cheaper stuff?

God bless,
