when changing gear ratios you cannot just reuse the old shims....If you take the old gears and the new one and compare them you'll see that the actual size/shape is different....Most people think its just a different # of teeth..that is correct but the actual deminsions are different...the new ones will have to be properly set-up or "shimmed" to set the proper backlash... also I can tell you, you might have problems finding a shop to put them in since they are used....usually the only people who will do it with a used set is a small run down service station and your chance of them not making any noise is slim...noise = wear and if you cant find someone to set those up who is a master of the universe in setting up rear ends then you'll be back in there soon..like within the next 10,000 miles.....just some info for ya.. <edited><editID>Black Horse</editID><editDate>37888.8366319444</editDate></edited>
have someone else do it..pay the 150-200 it's worth it..it's hard work in doing them...I do them in like 2 hours if I hit it 1st try....the last one I did I couldn't believe used the old shim and the crush sleeve and bearing was dead on....1.45 hours<img border="0" src=smileys/smiley5.gif border="0">
