Default Lowering springs/suspension question

I have constantly heard both sides of the argument for or against lowering the suspension on any car, but not really sure exactly what the arguments are. Will lowering an inch or more throw off the "geometry" of my stock 06 gt? What exactly does that ultimately mean? Anyone with lowering springs, how much has your ride improved due to them or other suspension mods?

the ride will be a little more harsh due to thehigher spring ratebut when done right there wont be any problems. You have probably heard about geometry problems from people who have not installed caster/camber plates if needed and i believe 05+ GT's need a control arm relocation bracket. I would search around the 05+ section and youll be able to get a more solid answer. As for my experience my first lowered car i did all wrong, i didntinstall camber plates and the tires wore on the inside and i chose a spring too low for what i needed and the ride quality/ground clearance suffered. With my car now the geometry is in check and the right hight is right where i want it and the springs are a little stiffer than stock but the car handles great.

yeah im looking for a bit more control. the stock suspension is a bit bouncy on rough surface/terrain and doesnt take turns very well. i may be looking into some d-spec shocks as well..

thanks for the advice
