Yes the examples are good I am not arguning that. I never said to do it right now? I am sure we live on differnet parts of the coutry and would have to plan someting like this. I have a job ect and can't just run over to your house. That is by no means what I have suggested. I have not claimed to have proved anything. Everyone else thinks they have. Most have given good THEORIES as to why they think the manual would win. But Proof???? no one including myself has seen that. with the exception of a few morons you are correct in the fact they give good theoris. Once again for the cheap seats....Racing on paper isn't racing. Then again to you that may be how you would race.

Ok sir, let's do it your way.
Come to my house right now, right now this moment and we will test both.
If you don't you're obviously wrong because you're not proving it.

This is exactly how you're sounding to me.
They're providing examples the best they can, showing you all the information you'd need for one person to actually say: Oh, guess I was wrong.

1) this is a different spin on something i already said, but in response to something posted earlier about traction. The truth is that what *i* said about being in lower gears longer is true. Additionally, What you said (2k5pony -- at least i think it was you but maybe not, i dont remember.. not important though) about traction is true. what i am trying to say, is that a good manual driver (assuming his car isnt putting out insane hp's) wont necessarily lose traction if he knows how to launch and control his rpms when shifting. that being said, if you assume the manual guy knows how to keep his traction under control, then he will be accelerating faster, for basically the entire race.

2) damn, i cant remember the other comment i was gonna make.
.. i paused here for a few minutes, still cant remember.... anyway ill post later if it comes back to me.

Traction is deffinalty the key to any race. 500 HP does you no good if its not on the ground. In your opion how far over redline should someone shift? Questin going out to anyone? Most manual cars you can manually go through the gears and shift yourself without having to worry about a clutch.... Just some food fro though

My post was to prove my point. You are a troll. You waste good bandwidth. You have helped this site out absolutly none. If you can find one person that can come in here and vouch for you i will stop calling you a troll. You can post a nice long paragraph about it. Thats fine I could care less, but you are the one who looks like a ***. So now instead of proving our point I want you to prove yours.

Wheres your proff there are no .500 trees?

Wheres you point that every car in the past 10 years of course, the auto is faster?

Wheres your proof you are not a troll?

So now i am going to be like you. I AM RIGHT YOU ARE WRONG

Now are we talking stock trans? no shift changes as in Computer or so on. I think a chip on a auto vs a manual will deff pull out allot faster. A built AUTO will pull off the line better than a manual. If he has evidence of this id be intrested in seeing this.

we are working on evidence I just cant find anyone willing to meet me and get a car to do so. I have done this 2 01 RA TA's and the manual won each time totally stock.

Umm...having flipped through the thread casually, not reading the links but just some of the remarks and comments, including your own....
You didn't ask specifically about any car in particular, rather 'in the last ten years' of which cars would win. Are you looking for opinions in general of which tranny would win or actual time slips of people that have done a similar comparison. Based on your comment (above) it seems the latter would be your underlying intention....
My opinion, same as my previous post. Older cars...unmodifed bone STOCK circa 94...manual would. Newer, circa 04, 05..hard to say, smarter STOCK computer and shifting program, also depends on the manufacturer..BMW, VW, Mercedes ..good luck Domestic..fair race depends on driver. Take the human factor out of the equation and make it a 'paper' race who knows. Don't know, don't care. I drive what I like (stick)

Well this is the way i see it. Ive flipped thourgh all the posts in this thread havent visited everylink, but im just posting my point of view. I belive the manual would win over the auto just because it can run through the gears longer with out shifting, and the manual would be able to power shift. The fact that the manual will still be in first when the auto goes into second would give the manual an edge. So bone stock cars, im gonna say that manual would win. But on the other hand if the auto was modded with a shift kit and goodies to adjust the shift points, it may be able to pull harder aginst a manual since it might be able to shift quicker. The manual would still be able to power shift so that would play a roll. Also my friend drives a bone stock lexus sc330 or something, and its got an switch to turn on "pwr mode" and that allows the auto to stay in teh gear alittle longer past the red line before shifting. That may also help a auto if the cars tested had options like that. But I belive that the fact that the driver controls when to shift, and is able to power shift in a manual it would beat the auto. Hell some of you say you cant beat a computer, but theres always a way to beat a computer, thats why anything man made is crackable or breakable.
