ABS light
I'm new to the site-- just searching for answers. I have a 2003 GT, and the abs light goes on for no particular reason that either I, or my mechanic can find. It has done this on 3 different occasions, and seems to happen when I am driving in stop and go traffic. After I have been parked for awhile and restart the engine, the light is off and does not come back on. I have never had any braking problems, so is this just a glitch in the light??

RE: ABS light
lol. thats IT!! So many people have this problem. I have checked before and found nothing. But if you give me youre VIN... Or anyone with a 99+ GT (not 2005) and i will check even further into it. I really want to know why this is happeneing just as much as you do. And i dont even onw a newer one. lol.

RE: ABS light
Have the system scaned for codes. It should still be in the history. usualy something like that is a clitch in a wheel speed sensor. Ford is really bad about the sensor on the top of the diff going bad. If you get a code you can narrow it down a lot.

lol. Now i see why someone posted about having Chevy people stay out of OUR forums... just playing. Ford doesnt put a ring on their ring gear on the Mustangs. So no WSS on the diff. there is actually a tone ring on the axles and there is a sensor beind them.

RE: ABS light
yeah that good ole ABS light. I just put brake pads on my kids Beretta and I thought the light would go out? NOPE. well today we get to tackle the brake shoes and get the other 3 plugs changed, a fuel filter and a diagnostics to find out what ABS sensor is shot.
i hear the master sensor runs almost a grand. I would watch a car burn before I paid that much money for a car part on a chevy...
