Wiring Driving Lights to Headlights
I have a 2001 Mustang that is limited on head lighting. My son is drivingthe car and I want to make sure he has goodnight visibility. Put Nighthawk bulbs in the headlamps, but still not enough lights. Is there any reason why I couldn't wire a set of driving lightsin to the stock headlight system. If I put it in on a switch - he will never turn it on. Ideas?

You could add a set of fogs that turn on when the car is on if you want, that would work fine. If the light still isnt enough then the headlight bulbs suck or they are not aimed correctly. If you still want more light install an HID kit, that'll give you some light.

i agree, somethings wrong with the headlights if thats not enuff visibility. you could get an HID kit if you are that concerned.
otherwise you can buy some foglights and wire them to a switched 12v accessory lead which would turn on when the ignition is 'on', or use a relay in the headlight wires

Be careful not to be blinding oncoming traffic with too much lighting. Check your headlight alignment! You can check it yourself by parking 50' away from a wall at night and turn on the headlights. The brightest area of the light (check each headlight seperately) should be just slightly lower than the height of the headlights themselves, and angled slightly to the right to avoid blinding oncoming traffic.
Remember a cop can give you a ticket if your headlights are too powerful
