so my ABS light went on the other day and i was just wondering what are some of the possible things that could be at fault

Were you trying to stop on ice, snow, water, etc. or were you just driving down the road?

its typically a wheel speed sensor that sets the light off but its kind of hard to say because there are other thing that can set it off.
