HEADunit removal/problems please help!
hey everyone, got a few problems, and im new to the website. so gimme a break lol, ok, im trying to install my subs and amp into my stock, v6, 01 stang, and ran into a few problems, 1"how do i remove my back seat, the bottom part, 2' how do i remove the trim paneling under the stearing wheel where the hood latch button is, and 3' the most important, is there anyway i can manually hook up my wires to my stock headunit, or i do i have to buy a new headunit with the left and right channel wire holes already installed with the other wire splitter or that other wire that turns on the amp when the radio comes on, bc i have three wires that i have. i have no problem buying a new headunit if i have to but i really want to work on amber (my mustang lol) myself and not let some retard at best buy charge me 200 bux to do it. Thanx fellow mustang riders
You can wire your subs and your amp into your stock head unit without the channel holes but it really sucks to do, there is a lot of wire splicing. I would just buy a new head unit, it would sound better and make the subs and amp easier to install.
ok im pretty sure im gonna buy a new headunit with one l channel plug in and 1 r channel plug in cause i only have one big amp, but i have this third cord thats blue that goes to my amp and to the back of the headunit somewhere, they said its suppose to power up amp when i turn on the car, would that outlit be on the back of a new headunit or would i have to make one?

ok well ill definetly get a new headunit, but am i gonna have to wire splice all the cords or do they make adapters for the old stock radio wires to adapt to w/e headunit i now get? and if ur reading this and havent commented please do id like to here every mustangs owner opinion on my ?s if youve got some spare time, thanx guys who've already posted
alright guys got a new problem, i got a new headunit and wire harness and connected the wires that are color coated the same, negative orange to negative orange and so on, but now, i have 4 extra wires coming from the harness, 2 black that say ground on them, and 2 orange, that say ignition i think, and i have 2 wires coming from my deck, one blue that says antena, and one black that says ground, anyone no what im suppose to do?
alright i moved past my last ?, but still 2 remaining problems'questions left and im done, i have 3 black wires, 2 solid black that i have soddered together, and one thats black with a white strip that says ground amp, since im grounding my amp in the trunk to the metal frame, do i still need to sodder that wire to the other black 2 ground wires, or do i just leave it alone with some electrical tape on it, and last, how do i pull my back seat out lol, i still cant get it, just the bottom part so i can get to the plast molding and hide my wires under my carpet, O! one last thing, how do i find the screws in my trunk to ground my amp, theres a couple behind my seats but there wierd bolts and they dont just screw out.
