Default Electrical - Alternator question

Any electrical experts out there? I came across a 71 Mustang that has an alternator wired in with only the BAT terminal, no voltage regulator, and of course, it's not charging.
I would like to buy a voltage regulator, however, I am not sure of the wiring. Not too sure about what it's showing in the Chilton electrical schematic.
The alternator has three terminals, BAT, 1 and 2.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!
