Default turn signal problem

Hi, I've gotta 96 cobra and having a problem w/the turn signals. The 4 way flashers work fine. But the passenger side blinker goes hyper crazy and doesnt work. I replaced the bulbs and the light sockets w/no luck. I have a feeling it's in the wiring particularly near the turn signal lever because if I lightly push up on the lever the blinker works but if i push it all the way up to lock in the blinker it goes hyper, so I'm thinking the wire is getting pinched somehow when the lever is locked up (blinker on w/o holding the lever). Has anyone else experienced this? suggestions? Thanks guys.

For what this is worth...Locate your turn signal indicator, what makes the tick when it's on, and replace that...that's my best suggestion.

I agree with Roundman. Sounds like your turn signal switch is bad. It's an easy fix.
