Default Question about AOD transmission

I remember back in the 1990's seeing articles on a special valve body available for the Ford AOD transmission. It was different from a simple body with a shift kit. It was designed to re-route the flow of power through the transmission and spread the load throughout the assembly. I believe that the claims were that it would allow an otherwise stock AOD to handle 600hp. It wasn't cheap, but it was a radical way of upgrading the power flow through the AOD.

Does anyone recall who made this valve body? I can't find anything like it in my searches. Since it actually modified the flow of power through the trans, was it only for track or would it work on the street?
