Default shaking

i drive an 89 lx with the 5.0. car shakes really bad above 60 and when i hit the brakes. i have had new tires put on and they are all balenced and i even had them balenced again and still same problem please help

can you feel it in the steering wheel? I would look to see if your rotors are warped

If it's in the front it could be worn front end parts like bushings or ball joints.

Rear end shakes could be the bushings or a driveshaft problem.Are the yoke bolts tight?

Can you duplicate the problem with the car on jackstands?

had the same problem except it was in a truck and my rotors were warped so i would get them checked out...

Most of the time when you get a vibration while braking it's in your brake system, and means most likely your rotors are warped. I have a lot of experience with this. I tend to be heavy on brakes, and always have been. Thats why my brake pads would only last me past 30k if I was lucky. I got tired of changing them so damn much that I would ride em, and my rotors would start to warp. If it's front end parts you feel the shaking or shimmy all times.
