shaking

RE: shaking
If it's in the front it could be worn front end parts like bushings or ball joints.
Rear end shakes could be the bushings or a driveshaft problem. Are the yoke bolts tight?
Can you duplicate the problem with the car on jackstands?

RE: shaking
Most of the time when you get a vibration while braking it's in your brake system, and means most likely your rotors are warped. I have a lot of experience with this. I tend to be heavy on brakes, and always have been. Thats why my brake pads would only last me past 30k if I was lucky. I got tired of changing them so damn much that I would ride em, and my rotors would start to warp. If it's front end parts you feel the shaking or shimmy all times.
