well,ive been trying to unlock it for the last 35 minutes, but so far no luck. if insert the coathanger way past the cylinder i can see the lock pin move on the inside. no movement when its by the lock cylinder. any ideas?

you just have to feel for it.. GM's are easy to pop once you get the feel for it. you realy can't describe it. just watch for the lock to move and jiggle the hell out of it

Sorry about that...I meant unplug the alternator and THEN the battery. You won't get any voltage spike this way, as there is nothing generating electricity. What the hell was I thinking!

your still not thinking right... i doesn't matter if the car is running on 14.5 volts or 12 volts. Unhooking the battery with the key on or engine running is a cardnal sin.

neighbor came over. he has a slim jim and a lock picking tool set and he got it open. thanks for all the help.

Glad you got it taken care off. you would be suprised how many cars get the keys locked in them at work. I have goten so good at getting in them it's scary
