Default 5.0 Speed dinsity

I have a 5.0 speed dinsity and people tell me i cant put a cam or anything in it to make it faster is this true?

to a certain extent, yes. the sensor is built to measure between the range of a stock engine's Intake CFM, if you increase this CFM via either a cam, heads, or larger throttle body, the sensor will " peg out" and then your engine's A/F ratio will go lean at WOT. the solution to this is to either get larger injectors to " fool " the computer in to thinging it's putting less fuel than it acualy is, or a bigger MAP sensor and ECU flash. That's why its easier on newer cars with MAF sensors because they read what ever amount of air enters the engine, rather than whats suposed to enter the engine.

Certain cams are are speed density friendly. Just do your research before you buy anything. There are a couple of guys in the 5.0 forum running speed density with quite a few mods.
