EEC-IV car getting a 4.6L (EEC-V) and its a V6, need help sorting it out
Hey everyone;
I am ready to put my stroker mod motor into the 95' but I want to know how do I deal with the ECM problems.
The car is a 1995 V6 and of course uses the EEC-IV OBD and the 4.6L stroker uses a EEC-V system (I have the wiring harness and ECM but not the dash wiring and pigtail.)
Basicly I want to know:
Can the V6 pigtail to the EEC-IV ECM simply have a 5.0L engine wiring harness plug into it and then I use a chip to configure my 4.6L stroker or do I have to get the whole pigtail from the firewall to the ECM (behind the dash) and then get it chipped (With a 5.0L ECM?)
Now I do have the option of changing over to a EEC-V system because I am changing the interior too along with the dash, in that cash what all would need to be changed as far as body wiring? Will I also have to get the body harness from the ECM to the tail lights, turn signals, reverse lights and rear defrost or will the 95' body harness work as far as those go?
Also will I have a problem with headlights and fog lights?
Thanks everyone, I hope to have the car running propperly this spring.
If you have any other tips, help or suggestions about a swap of this nature please tell me.

RE: EEC-IV car getting a 4.6L (EEC-V) and its a V6, need help sorting it out
I was under the impression that the '94-up 3.8L engines were already EEC-V since they have an OBDII interface. The '94-'95 5.0s, while still OBDI have an OBDIIport just for that reason (no need to rewire a car based on the engine). I have no idea if a V6 harness will work on a 4.6L though.
