Default manifold and cam kit

I'm kinda new to building a motor and am not sure which way I should go. I was looking in the march-april summit and came across the manifold kits and wasn't sure which one I should choose. So I am looking for opinions. Which would go with: the idle-5500 or the 1500-6500?

im assuming that ur engine is carbureted (from ur name). i suggest the edelbrock performer rpm air gap manifold with the matching cam. you should probably get a 650 carb to go with it. that will give you the 1500-6500 rpm range. it will give you more power and still be very useful for a street car.

You don't think that a 650 will be too much carb? My goal is around 300 hp. I'm kinda leaning towards a t-56 tranny though.

well, if u got the route i showed you would be about 325 hp (depending on exhaust). ya, 650 might be big, do a carburetor calculator on it.

btw, t56 = kick ***!

The manifold you mentioned is that the one on page 16 in the Summit March-April catalog or the one on page 17?

What's the difference between the air gap and the regular manifold?

the air gap looks cool and the reg rpm don't . IMO from what I read when they first came out they offred olny slight gains with the air gap. and at that time they olny wer offred for SBC. but when they came out for SBF i bought one that day kause they look sweet.

Good move in staying with the eddlebrock packages if you dont understand how to interpret a cam card yet . if it's all RPM stuff it all matches . Let the egg heads do the math . Holly also makes the same kind of packages I think it is all holley companys Luanity cam, weland intake and the holey carb . I would buy it just for the carb the holley makes more power and thats a fact .

the air gap doesnt cost much more and should give you a few more hp, so thats why i suggest the air gap
