Need help bad! When I try to start the motor a nasty noise comes from the flywheel and starter area. Its an AOD, I put in a new starter and checked the flywheel and it looks to be in good condition. When I crank it it sounds as if its grinding, but dont now exactly from where?

 

I would check to see if you got the right starter.

 

I did, I took it off to check and I called to make sure it was the right one and they said it was.

 

Fixed the problem, I just shimed the starter and no more grinding!
