Painting rims?
Hey guys, so i have done alot of body work and add on parts to my GT this winter...and im painting it all black...well i have the 17 inch cobra rims that a not chrome...and i was wondering if there was a way, tht when i paint my car...can i also paint the rims?? i have heard that you can sand blast the rims and then they will be paint ready...anybody know about this??
yea alot of people are painting their rims now. really theres no need to sandblast, you can just sand them down a little to roughen them up and spray primer than paint. you could snadblast but it wouldbe a little more expensive i would think.
i would get a quote for some powder coating if it was me, dirt rocks and debris will chip off regular paint and you will have to paint them more often powder coating is a bit more durable and should last
Most powder coaters run black at least twice a week. You could get them done when they are running something else and not even have to pay a set up fee. It is 100x better than any paint ever could be. I have been getting things powder coated for a couple of years now and will never go back to paint. Especially on things that are subject to getting chipped.
