It is a brush on kit, so I don't see why removing them would make it better.

 

That was wierd. I used a wire wheel, and on both the back calipers the stuff just came off easy. On the fronts, it wouldn't take it off on the main body of the caliper. So I figured it was holding enough to paint over. So I did the painting today and fronts do look a little less uniform in the paint. But I think they still look good
