Default Getting stickers off bumper

Sorry if somebody created this thread before but, I have a '66 mustang and it has a chrome bumper, as you know. I have it with some stickers on it, and I would like to get them off with out scratching the chrome or spending a lot of money, I'd rather do it by myself. I got a razor blade and I'm slowing picking off the stickers, and I do have some goof off to get rid of the stuff the sticker leaves under it.
Anybody have any ideas/thoughts?

Heat gun. I'm the man when it comes to taking off dealer stickers, I do everybody's. I usually clean the glue off with acetone, but you have to be careful with it. It will take off the paint if you use too much, drip it or dont clean it off with something else fast enough. (I know the bumper is CHROME, I just added that for anyone doing it on PAINT.)

Oh, and if you dont want to scratch it, lay off the blades.

I have vinyl dealer stickers on my bumper. Mine's an 05 mustang with painted bumpers...

I should use a heat gun?

I'm hesitant to do it myself.

Here's a photo of the rear bumper... if you look on the left side you can see the dealer's graffiti. []

yes you can use a heat gun on paint no problem. just keep it moving. don't let it sit in one spot. i used one on my old lincoln to take the pinstripe off. worked like a charm. but KEEP IT IN MOTION!

And LOW heat. One of the first ones I did I heated it up too much, set all the way up, and stuck my thumbnail right in the paint taking the sticker off. Was my buddies wife's car, so HE didn't mind . lol

Yeah, get rid of that crap. I told the dealership when I ordered my truck, not to put one on it. When it arrived and I got there to see one on it, I walked right past the truck (as hard as it was...) and right to the office. When I bitched the guy says " dont you want to advertise for us?" So I said "you wanna pay me 50 bucks a month for the ad?"

They took it off.

Use tar and bug remover.

Everyone is making this out to be far more complicated than it needs to be.

Use a blow dryer or heat gun or leave your car in the sun for alittle while, heat it up just enough to soften the glue and peel it off. Use tar and bug remover or GOO GONE to get any glue that was left behind.

That's really easy to take care of. I had dealer info on my car and also had those stock mustang stripes on my rocker panel- I've taken them both off by using a hairdryer to heat the glue under the decal and then after peeling them off, I just used a bit of that goo gone stuff and got the remaining goo off there.

It took like a 1/2 hour to do all the decals

tar and bug remover might work on glue residue. unfortunatly it has almost no effect on bugs or tar. for bugs and tat fill a spray bottle with gasoline and wipe the bugs and or tar away. works like a charm.........just be sure to work in small sections and wash well immediatly after you put it on there. and wax it when you're all done. I'm sure when all is said and done this isn't the best thing in the world for your paint but it's a tip i got from a guy who runs a carwash and if you use this method sparingly it should be ok.
